Roger started a game of tug with Jasper and Luka this morning. He’s probably about a third their size and weight. There were a few times when Roger was being swung around off his feet, but he never let go. Eventually, five dogs were all pulling on the rope.

Rainbow at the Dog Park

There weren’t many people at the dog park this morning, but it was worth the visit just to see the rainbow. A few minutes after I took this photo, it began to rain in earnest and we all ran for the shelter of the loggias.

From left to right, the dogs are Shasta, Quincy, Duke, and Jasper. The four of them played tug together for about 10 minutes, thoroughly entertaining the bystanders.

Patch has been to the dog park several times now. He gives an enthusiastic wiggly greeting to every person and dog he meets. He’s not intimidated by the bigger dogs and even does his best to hump them–except he can’t quite reach–yet.

The little husky, Sky, is new to the park. He’ll be a lot bigger than Curtis soon, but for right now, they’re perfect playmates. They had a lot of fun this morning wrestling under the bench, safe from all the bigger dogs.

Roger and Cooper’s Tug of War

Roger and Cooper’s Tug of War

Roger and Cooper played tug with a frisbee for at least 15 minutes today. Lots of growling, all from Roger. Although Roger is much smaller than Cooper, he held his own, never letting go, even as he was being dragged across the dog park. Roger got the toy in the end.
